New York City is often called the city that never sleeps. For women, it’s now possible to party all-night long (on Friday and Saturday nights) without having to worry about getting a safe ride home. RightRides offers women a free, safe, late night ride home on Friday and Saturday evenings from 11:59pm to 3:00am in 45 NYC neighborhoods. Their service, beginning and ending of the ride, is only available within the shaded area on this New York City map:

The phone number to call for a ride home is 718-964-7781 or 888-215-SAFE (7233). It’s important to note that RightRides only turns on their phone from 11:59pm to 3:00am on Friday and Saturday nights.

Thanks for the info!
I’m surprised there aren’t a lot complaints about it only being for woman but I think it’s a great idea. If they let a bunch of drunk guys on the bus they will have to be like Detroit and have a cop ride along on each route.

Good point about the gender issue. Though I think most think safety is a bigger issue for women late at night in NYC in terms of the post-club or bar crowd. A service for men would be nice too, but I don’t see it happening.
That is great…I neva heard about this. There was many times when i needed this because I usually take the train (which is not fun alone at night lol)
@Supastarry
It is a great program. Take advantage of it.
I see. I’m about to blog about it lol
thanks!
